UPATE JUNE 2015
Town Centre | Grattan Square Redevlopment
Having taken into consideration the views of the stakeholders with regard to the timing of the works and the fact that July and August would be the busiest time for a number of commercial premises within the Square, it has been decided that works will not now commence
until the week commencing 31st August 2015.
If you have any comments or queries relating to the Town Centre Scheme please email firstname.lastname@example.org
or contact Johnny Brunnock on (058) 21496 or Tom Longan  on (058) 21425
Youghal Road - The Youghal Road Surfacing and Lining has now been completed and the new lights have been energised.  Planting of the green areas has commennced. We would like to thank the public for their patience while these works were ongoing. The result of this traffic calming scheme will mean that pedestrians and cyclists should start to feel the benefits of having a mainly segregated area in which to walk and cycle. In particular, the pupils of the four schools that link onto the Youghal Road will have a safer means to travel independently to school.
N25 - Works continue on the N25 as we progress with our aim of having a shared cycle/walkway around the perimeter of the town. Large sections of the off-road works have been completed on the Dungarvan side and works will begin soon on the Abbeyside side to the Coolagh Roundabout. This scheme will help to fulfil the ambition of being able to travel around the town on the N25 route without the need to interact with live traffic.
Cappoquin Road - Works have begun on the redesign of the Cappoquin Road approaching Kilrush. A shared footpath and Cyclepath will be constructed on the right hand side as you leave Dungarvan. The three existing rubber ramps will be removed and replaced with five tarmacadam crossings which will be smoother to drive on. The original purpose of the traffic calming was to allow residents in the area to enter and leave their properties safely and to slow vehicular speed; both of these objectives will be met.
